Respected Sir,
As a responsible citizen of this locality, I would like to draw your kind attention to the increasing number of accidents caused as the consequences of the excessive engagement of young people in mobile phones while crossing the roads, railway tracks or while driving on busy streets in recent days. Cases of road accidents have already been reported as a result of riding bikes while talking over cell phones. They remain so busy while having a talk with their kith and kin that they fail to drive carefully on the busy streets. Accidents have been taking place frequently as a result. Besides, it has become a threat to the daily passengers as well. No proper step has been taken on the part of the traffic police or the administration to put a bar on the use of cell phones on road till date.
Therefore, Sir, I would earnestly request you to kindly take this matter under your sympathetic concern and allow a column in your esteemed daily in this regard, so that it may draw the attention of the authorities concerned and required steps could be taken at the earliest to remedy the situation. This is time the Govt. should take proper steps to put a limit on the use of the mobile phones on road.
